May 27, 2008 - Work Day at School

I will be at school today for a little while if you are interested in coming in to pick up your research papers.  I could use some help moving stuff around, so I might put you to work if you come in. :)

I should be in by 10:00 and don't know how long I will stay.  I'm hitching a ride with my dad, so it probably won't be more than a few hours.  Feel free to send me an email if you think you might come by.

May 23, 2008 (Blue/Gold) B1/G1 Final Exams

B1 - Completed Final Presentations.  Collected books.

May 21, 2008 - B2, B3, B4 FINAL EXAMS

B2 - Final Presentations.  All books are due today.  Passed back several final drafts of the research paper.  I will continue to grade and finish this class before starting on the next set.  Students should receive their papers back from me by the end of the week.

B3 - Returned ALL final drafts of the Trend Analysis paper.  Final Presentations.  Students who took the course for credit from IU were asked to complete an evaluation form and provide email addresses for follow-up from IU.  Students taking the course for IU credit will be receiving an official looking grade sheet from me in the next couple of days.  This will show them what grade I am sending to IU.

I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED THESE TWO CLASSES!  HAVE AN AWESOME SUMMER! :)

G2 - Final Presentations.  Turn in your books after your presentation.

G3 and G4 - Passed back all graded work.  Gave students a 4-page review sheet for the final exam.  I told them that if they studied the material on the review sheet, they should be set for the final.  Everything they need to know is on that review sheet.  The test will be multiple choice and matching.  It will include the Vocabulary for lists 3-4 from The Odyssey.

May 16, 2008 (Gold) SSR Day

G2 - Started presentations today.  Students who presented turned in books.  Assignment:  Work on your presentations for next week.

Parents and Students, please see the note posted on May 15 regarding the grading of the Research Paper.

G3 and G4 - Finished The Odyssey in class today! :)  There were 4 sections that we read and discussed in class along with 4 worksheets to go with them.  I collected all of that as well as the two vocabulary worksheets for today.  The vocabulary for lists 3-4 will be part of the final Exam next week.  I will give the vocab. back to study when we meet for review on Tuesday.  Assignment:  Finish up worksheets, get caught up on absent work, etc.

G4 - SSR time.

May 15, 2008 (Blue) Senior Celebration Day

B1 and B2 - Final Presentations began today.  Students who are not presenting on Monday may bring food to share with the class.  Extra Credit has been graded and recorded for B1.  Final Presentation scores are complete and posted for those who presented today in B1.  Assignment:  For those who are presenting next week, finish up the presentation, prepare handout, and look for "the gifts" I have given you (for bonus points on the Final.)  Anyone not presenting Monday may bring food to share.

HONORS 11 PARENTS AND STUDENTS:  I am spending about 3-4 hours per night grading papers for all of my classes.  I have 2 more sets of papers that are sitting at a higher priority than the Final Drafts of the Honors 11 Research Paper.  Once I get through those other 2 sets of papers, I hope to begin grading your Final Drafts.  On Monday, I will be receiving another set of Research Papers from the seniors, and those will bump your papers down a notch on my priority list again.  Fortunately for all of you, the longer it takes me to grade all of the other papers, the better your papers are going to look to me.  So, if you are worried about your grade, all I can tell you right now is that the closer we get to the 23rd, the less time I will spend grading your paper, which could be quite beneficial for you!  I apologize for any inconvenience or misunderstandings.  Just know that I am doing the best I can do.  :(

B3 - Senior Celebration Day.  Comparative Analysis papers DUE for half of the class.  Binders DUE.  Presentations will begin on Monday!  See you then! :)
