B1 - Discussed the Opinionnaire from last time, then we moved into Shakespeare's text. We read and discussed one of Shakespeare's more famous sonnets, "My Mistress' Eyes are Nothing Like the Sun," then I walked through the Cast of Characters and the Prologue (p. 940-941). I also showed students a Powerpoint Presentation I created to help visually explain the Prologue a little more clearly. Next, we began reading Act I: Scene 1. At the end of the block, I asked students to finish reading Act I: Scene 1 and complete the Review Sheet for the Quiz. The Quiz will be on Wednesday. Assignment: Finish reading Act I: Scene 1 and complete the Review Sheet. Be prepared for a quiz on Wednesday over the background information and notes, the Prologue, and Act I: Scene 1. Remember to use Classzone.com to help you with the reading... the audio is incredible for this play. Activation Code: 2333875-20. PARENTS: I told the class today that I expect to stay with the homework calendar from this point forward. This will require them to do some reading at home. I do not want them to fly through this material... this is a difficult reading assignment; it will take time to read through it properly, and it may require them to read through the material more than once. Either way, I do not want to see students scrambling to finish the assignment in the hallway when I arrive at school on Wednesday!!!
