G1/G2 - Students were given notes in G1 over Chapters 1-3. Each class was also given about 10 minutes to review prior to taking a quiz over Chapters 1-6. After the quiz, we formally went through notes for Chapters 4-6. With the remainder of the block, students watched a video about the ancient Roman Gladiator games, which directly correlates with a number of influences in The Hunger Games. Assignments: Complete the second character chart and read Chapters 7-9 for Tuesday.
G4 - Took students to the computer lab today to work on their preliminary topic research. Students showed me their Brainstorming worksheets, and we discussed their individual topic choices. The worksheet I want you to work on with regard to your preliminary research can be found on New Moodle. Enrollment key: shrimp. Assignments: Preliminary Topics Worksheet due on Tuesday. Bring a newspaper or a magazine to class for a grade. These will be used for sample bibliography entries only. They do not have to have anything to do with your topic. SAT Vocab. Test #19 on Thursday of next week.
