B2/B3 - Summary Draft #3 DUE for Mrs. Northouse’s comments. During “the collection,” I asked groups to discuss a few questions to introduce the readings for Unit #2, Cyberspace and Online Identity. A new homework calendar is posted on Google Classroom. In class, we went through the notes on The Critique paper (handouts given in class and posted on Moodle), I distributed copies of the supplementary readings for this unit, and we went through the Double-Entry notebook (DEN) assignment (handout). There is a template for this assignment posted on Moodle. With the remainder of the block, students read “The Plug-In Drug” (handout) and started generating a sample group analysis paragraph through Google Docs. Assignment: Read "The Flight From Conversation," by Sherry Turkle, and complete a one-page, typed DEN for this article. Submit it to me through Google Classroom. Begin reading the supplementary packet for Unit 2.
B4 - Study Guide for Chapters 8-9 DUE. We went over the vocabulary from last time, then students worked with their partners on the vocabulary worksheet for Chapters 10-11. For the remainder of the block, we began reading and discussing Chapters 10-11 together. Assignment: Read Chapters 10-11, do the study guide for Chapters 10-11. Please be prepared for a quiz next time. Extra Credit Opportunity Tuesday night!
