B2 - Temporary groups gave their Cinderella presentations in class today. I distributed the homework article. That was all we had time for today. Assignments: Read "'Cinderella' and the Loss of Father-Love," by Jacqueline M. Schectman, and do a DEN for Tuesday. In addition, please complete the Final Draft of the Comparative Critique. Be sure to print two copies and bring back the comment sheet you were given.
B3 - We started with Pleasure Reading then moved into the 6th Article of the Week: "Gun Control." Students were given 20 minutes in class to start reading, annotating, and writing their responses. From there, we re-watched and discussed the TED Talk and two additional articles relevant to our study of Invisible Children's movement. The rest of the block was given as an opportunity to start watching the next video, "Move," and completing the digital worksheet posted on Google Classroom. Assignments: Complete the video assignment and worksheet posted on Google Classroom for Tuesday. AOW Response #6 (Gun Control) is due on Friday, 11/1.
B4 - We started with Pleasure Reading then moved into the 6th Article of the Week: "Sleep Part 2." Students were given 20 minutes in class to start reading, annotating, and writing their responses. From there, students were asked to write a half-page journal about "That Yucky Love Stuff." I shared several songs with them while they wrote. After sharing a few of their responses, students completed and discussed an "Opinionnaire." After that discussion, students were asked to copy notes on "Shakespearean Drama" (posted on Moodle). Assignments: Copy the notes on "Shakespearean Drama." Article of the Week Response #6 (Sleep Part 2) is due on Friday, 11/1.
